Cell doubling time

Estimate doubling time from two cell counts taken over a known interval. Use the same count unit for N0 and Nt; the interval is in hours.

Doubling time = t·ln(2) ÷ ln(Nt/N0); growth rate k = ln(Nt/N0) ÷ t. This assumes exponential growth over the interval and is less meaningful after confluence, media exhaustion or stress.
